We had what looked like potentially a very good entry for Brands Hatch.  At close we had 17 entries and with the late addition of David Shaw it made 18.  Regrettably, 4 of those had to withdraw late on, David Pickering, Graham Kiddie (cracked up right from SPA), Leif Bossun (problems at SPA) and Gareth Walters (not quite ready), thus reducing our proposed numbers to 14.

Jonathan Price and Colin Painter were both sick the week before the race, but Tony Sinclair was a late entry making us 13 in all.  Not great after a promising start, but with front runners of the calibre of Benn Sims, Graham Fennimore, Greg Caton and David Shaw, it promised to be a good race.  Benn unfortunately broke a diff on the warming up lap, which left the other 3 to do battle, but Graham and Greg pulled away a bit at the front from David, who nevertheless put in the fastest lap of the race on his very last lap.  Gregg got close the Graham on the very last lap and unfortunately with each passing a different side of a backmarker, Gregg just lost the impetus and Graham was able to hold on to win and clinch the Classic Formula 3 Championship.

Despite a shower a couple of hours before our race at 4:30 pm, the weather was otherwise good and a fun day was had by all those who attended.

We have what promises to be a real cracker for the Silverstone finals.  Jamie Brashaw will join the field and if the same 4 front runners come out again, we will have a 5-way battle for honours.  Hopefully, there will be one or two late entries from the 14 already entered, to get us the nearer the 20 mark.

Attached is an analysis of our numbers for 2013, also pointing out the entries in some of the other categories that run with HSCC, like FF2000, Classic Racing Cars and Derek Bell.  Also listed is the proposed events and dates for 2014 for Classic Formula 3 to decide which meetings it wishes to partake in.  As well as this there are two possible Anglo French rounds and of course Monaco, which some of our regular runners may enter.

There will be a meeting during the day at the Silverstone Finals, as usual to discuss this and also the rule changes.

I am pre-warning you of all this as we are hoping to avoid too much debate.  Please use the FORUM for any comments that you wish to make throughout the course of the next week, so your views can be seen by all.
