Classic F3 update.

  • I think we did well avoiding Donington on the 17th March, it was wet and cold, though otherwise by all reports a good meeting and Thruxton this coming weekend where the forecast temp is upto +5 during the day and -2 at night. Nevertheless good luck to CF3 competitors competing in either the F2/DBT race or other races on the programme. .

Cadwell Park

Now, maybe the prospect of better weather at Cadwell Park looms. Some entries have already been received for our first meeting on April 20/21 but with closing date on the 3rd April, many more are expected. If you haven’t yet entered please expedite your forms to the HSCC office and don’t forget there is testing on the Friday.

We will try and make a special parking effort in the paddock to keep all the CF3 cars together and use some of the race sponsorship cash to have a good beer-up in the trackside clubhouse on Sat night.

Papers. Cars that have not raced with the HSCC before will require HTP papers or an HSCC Verification Identity Form or evidence that they have been applied for. Even if you have submitted them before bring them to Cadwell or to the first race you do this year please. If your car does not have either of these papers you need to speak with Richard or me for a solution.

On the subject of our £250 race sponsorship, this is how it looks at present.

So we only have one to fill and I am working on a title sponsor for the Spa team event. Each race will named after the sponsor and printed in the race programme so come on, who will do the Snetterton race, the only one left to fill?

Silverstone Int May 19th.

I have mentioned before the dinner being organised for Competitors on the Sat evening in the BRDC clubhouse. The max no is 160 (16 tables of ten) and the price of the 3 course meal is £35 per head, your booze is extra. I will take a table for CF3, who would like to join me? Dress is smart casual.

Spa June 16th.

First and foremost it has been decided that this meeting will not be a UK Championship round. There will be a brand name giving a Magnum of Champagne for the Nations Cup, which is for the lowest aggregate score by teams of 3. Following our recent success on the Rugby field my team of me, Richard Trott and Keith White will be known as Wales1. Sorry chaps!

The following is the email from the French F3 Classic race organiser which is self explanatory. Your permission from the MSA to race abroad should be on your licence this year so the letter referred to is not required but double check your licence to be sure.

However the Scrutineers are running the meeting to FIA rules (like Monaco) so the Appendix K rules (Click text to view PDF file) will assist you. Richard or I will gladly assist if you have any other queries.

Just some informations about SPA :

Here joined you will find the safety regulations.

To summup :

SAFETY :

Extinguisher : Do not mix weigh and volume. It depends of the product used and by the way depends on the manufacturer.

For example : if you have AFF product it is 2,4 liters –If you have NO product it is 2 kg (not liters)

The rule applied is the FIA rule and the FIA technical list N° 16 gives all the extinguishers valid.

Same rule as in England

Hans : not mandatory by Belgian scrutinneer (as with British rules ), see attached document for Spa.

Underwear and balaclava are mandatory in Belgium! (not in France...)

ENTRIES :

British drivers will enter through ClassicF3 and HSCC not directly to French F3Classic. The price will be around 590€ /car for 1 qualifying of 25’ and 2 races of 25’

Give also the teams of 3 cars for the Nations Cup

And foreign drivers must have an authorization from their national sporting authority for racing abroad.
