2.
Association structure - agreed to leave it as is and make the membership fee of £50 mandatory to fund website and social events. All members will get free T shirt, etc. Other things planned as membership grows. Membership forms given out and 2 members paid up on day.
Action: RR to email out forms and post on website shortly.
2011 accounts handed out by Colin and no adverse comments. A 2012 budget was presented by Colin based on minimum 30 members but to do more we need more members paying subs.
3.
Calendar – still not finalised, probably until around mid Dec but expected to closely match this season. Entries across HSCC up this year. RT wants fewer rounds but general feeling it’s about right.
Race lengths – requested 20 mins qualifying and race if we can get it, being looked at favourably by HSCC. We need to fill grids to gain favour. Prefer longer qualy in preference to race as then less need to test.
Croft – 50/50 on vote so not in 2012, see how it goes in future. Silverstone Classic with French, majority supported HSCC. No promises. Will be expensive entry fee. Further co-operation with French given approval.
Action: HP to liaise with HSCC and BH
4.
Paddock parking – working with Alan Morgan at Historic FF2000 to produce suggestions and solution to present to HSCC and question is how to manage and will require compromises. CF3 vehicle pass suggested, also night before scrutineering suggested as being successful and encouraged.
Action: HP/AM to liaise with HSCC
Barbies – general feeling was that they or buffet are ok at selected meetings such as two day meetings and that we should provide the awning with tea/coffee at every meeting as a focal point especially if we are all together in the paddock.
5.
Rules and Eligibility – have to do something. How to get older cars out and look after 1600’s? Suggested weight break for 1600’s to 425kg and ensure get podium presentation of class trophy. IR suggested allowing in later FF2K cars i.e. VD 81-82 but most not in favour unless grids really bad. It was felt we should update our list of known cars and owners and contact all to promote CF3 and see if they will race or sell cars.
Action: RT to assist RR.
81-84 Cars - Agreed we have to accept them and suggested run with flat bottom but 470 kg minimum weight limit and tweek in future if needed. Accept VW engines only for 81-84 cars but no ECU and must be mechanical injection, will experiment and see how it goes.
Suggested 3 Classes – 71-73 / 74-80 / 81-83 with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and winner of each class on podium. Points to be same as current regarding entry numbers to score maximum points. However, it was agreed if 81-83 cars penalised by 470 kg weight limit then all one class from 74-84.
Action: HP to amend regulations to note changes once finalised.
Post-race scrutineering – suggested that 1st – 3rd and another 2 at random each meeting be checked for tests as below and most agreed this was way forward.
- Air hole
- Vacuum test
- Weight
- Ride height
- Rear wing measurements
Also make airbox tester available for all to use at any time during meeting if problems or not sure of outcome. We will try to get existing unit back from Reg James.
Action: HP to contact Reg to ask for tester.
Tyres - Suggest limit to no more than 10 per season but agreed to be in line with French and make it 12 tyres. Will hope that if in regs most will accept and follow it, look at how to police with either bar codes or stencils.
Penalties were not discussed but suggestions could be - start from back or lose points
Action: HP to amend regs.
6.
Driving standards were discussed with suggestions of HSCC stewards but apparently there are observers records available after a race and these can be made available to chairmen to then discuss with individuals concerned. Needs firmness from CF3 as well as HSCC.
7.
AOB
KW suggest that we change name from Classic F3 to something historic as it conveys wrong image as something pretty standard. We will look into this as a club and come up with suggestions for the future.
Several asked about ways to reduce cost of entries – suggestion raised of free entry per class on rotational basis but CS stated that would have to be covered by higher charge to others to offset. Only way to reduce fees would be a large sponsor of say £10-20k. Can’t rely on spectators to cover cost.
ND suggested HSCC advertising on radio before meetings to gain more spectators to offset cost. CS would look into this. Looking at offering streaming commentary with current live timing available on-line.
