CLASSIC F3

RALT RT3 TOYOTA NOVAMOTOR CHASSIS #500 1984.

RALT RT3 TOYOTA.

Bought complete 3 years ago and restored from ground up. During a ten year period in the 90’s the car was used for hillclimbing in the South and has therefore been fitted with 8 and 10” Compomotive split rims with bespoke front and rear wings, which could easily be returned to standard with no further alterations required.

This has the original Toyota Novamotor that the car was built with and has been looked after by Tony Broster of Newbridge Race Engineering when it was in competition. The engine boasts all the original bespoke Novamotor parts including it’s magnesium slide throttle assembly and mechanical fuel injection system.

The engine is coupled to it’s original Mk9 magnesium casing Hewland box which has been completely rebuilt during the restoration. It is currently setup to run a double width first gear and is therefore currently 4 speed. A new clutch and master cylinders were also fitted during the rebuild.

The front suspension is the later type pushrod setup and has the original cockpit adjustable front and rear flexure anti-roll bars. All wishbones have been NDT tested and refurbished. All new AN Motorsport braided brake lines and clutch lines have been fitted.

The brake callipers have been totally rebuilt, there is a new steering column fitted with quick release adaptor, the original bag tank has been inspected and leak checked and the original instrumentation has been re-commissioned.

A full nut and bolt rebuild with all new NAS bolt fasteners and titanium K-nuts. Restoration completed by myself when I worked for a well known F1 team. A comprehensive image portfolio is available as evidence of the rebuild.

Painted at the end of the restoration in electric blue the car has not yet turned a wheel in anger since being re-commissioned so the bodywork is completely fresh.

Started and run up, the engine is crisp and very healthy when up to temperature with good oil pressure.

In terms of history chassis #500 was bought by Alan Docking Racing in 1984 and was Eric Lang’s spare car for the season. Giles Butterfield confirmed he drove the car in the 1985 season.

Offered for sale at £27,500 with a comprehensive spares package to include a spare set of Compomotive rims, painted nose + mould amongst other parts.
